Time out. Time for yourself. Space to breathe and to be yourself. Many of us long for this. For being able to let go fully and relax deeply. It is in that space that we find the treasures within ourselves. Because they are there – in each and every one of us.
And even if we have no idea of what those treasures are, they will gently reveal themselves when we let go of stress, tension, worry, over-doing, feeling not good enough and not feeling loved. ‘Yes, I would love that’, you say, ‘but…..I don’t have time/money/confidence’ (or maybe you are waiting for someone’s approval)… etc. Eckhart Tolle says ‘Realise deeply that the present moment is all you have’.
Self-care and self-compassion are about treating yourself like someone you love dearly. Being gentle and loving towards yourself. Giving yourself time, space and care. Connecting with your heart and your true self and allowing yourself to flourish.
During this weekend we will be doing gentle flowing yoga classes, practice meditation/mindfulness, experience yin yoga (nourishing relaxing postures) and yoga nidra (deep relaxation). There will also be workshops on Self-Care and Self-Compassion. And there will be Gong Baths and a Spring Celebration Ceremony in Nature.
Suitable for anyone, including complete beginners.
The Weekend includes:
Hatha Yoga Sessions, including Yoga Postures and Breathing exercises (Pranayama).
Deep Relaxation including Yoga Nidra.
Meditation and Mindfulness.
Workshops on Self-Care and Self-Compassion with many tips on how to implement this in your life.

The Old Palace is nurturing retreat space that embodies the true essence of wellness to live, thrive and grow consciously in community! The Old Palace Retreat lays on the outskirts of the historic village of Wrotham, just outside of Sevenoaks. Nestled in 15 acres of wild fields with ample space to unwind and slow into the natural rhythms of life.
There are two acres of walled garden with lawns to lay and laze upon, and apple orchard and kitchen garden, providing a secluded escape to unwind.
There is a stunning indoor pool and steam room, built under the lawn, with an expansive glass roof to allow the sunlight to ripple in the water. You’ll also find our authentic 18 ft Tipi, which stands proudly on the lawn through the Spring - Autumn months.
The Old Palace is situated in Wrotham in Kent and easily accessible from the M25/M20. The nearest train station is Borough Green & Wrotham. A taxi from the train station takes around 8 minutes.
Rose-Marie Sorokin, B.A., Dip BWY. Rose-Marie has worked in the body-mind area for 30 years. She is a British Wheel of Yoga qualified teacher, a qualified Pilates Teacher and Meditation Teacher (post graduate British Wheel of Yoga Meditation & Personal Development training with Maarten Vermaase), a Spiritual Coach (trained with Nick Williams and Sarah Alexander, London), Astrologer, Healer (NFSH) and You Can Heal Your Life Cert. Facilitator (based on Louise Hay’s work) and works internationally. She is currently writing a book with the title 'The Miracle of Yes'.
Rose-Marie has, for a very long time, been fascinated by how our thoughts, feelings and the subconscious mind affect our life and believes passionately in our capacity to heal and turn around any situation to create inner peace and a fulfilling life. Rose-Marie has studied personal and spiritual development and related subjects for many years and is particularly inspired by Eckhart Tolle, Louise Hay, Nick Williams, Adyashanti, Gangaji, Rupert Spira, Robert Holden, Teal Swan, Gregg Braden, Godfrey Devereux, David Wolfe and many other teachers within the area of spirituality and Advaita Vedanta (non-dualism). She is now focusing much of her work on Self-Care and Self-Compassion.
Rose-Marie’s Hatha Yoga classes are an inspirational blend of different styles with an emphasis on a flowing style of yoga – sequences of postures – suitable for both beginners and intermediate students. Classes also include specific exercises, designed by Rose-Marie, for releasing tension, stiffness and tightness in the muscles as this is hugely important for improving our wellbeing. She sees Yoga as invaluable when it comes to connecting to our Inner or Sacred Self, which is the true ‘goal’ of Yoga.
Yoga is a fantastic tool for creating balance on all levels - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It allows us to get in touch with our own body and to gently work on blockages that are present there. Any pain, stiffness or discomfort in the body is a reflection of our thoughts and emotions. Through yoga postures, breathing, meditation and deep relaxation much of this can be improved or even resolved. Yoga also improves the flow of energy (prana in sanskrit) which puts us in touch with Who We Really Are or our Sacred Self. Through Yoga we can access our Intuition which guides us to what we need to do in order to create the life we want. In the West we rarely work with this deeper aspect of Yoga, but it is there waiting for us to tap into.
